Proton Mail is no longer a safe service for hackers!

Contrary to Proton Mail's no-log slogan, the email server is now set to provide IPs and details of accounts being sued and prosecuted.

This is not exactly right. It is only one case in which they couldn't bypass any kind of Swiss jurisdiction and did give out IP of the client. You have all of the chances to use Tor and VPN in Protonmail. No further information can be given away, just the IP.

An oddity I found about their TOR site is that all (or most) hyperlinks link to the clearnet version of Protonmail, so there's a chance a user can unknowingly be accessing the clearnet version. I don't know how much it'd realistically matter though given TOR 'hides' your IP anyway.

In that case, ProtonMail would only get the TOR exit node IP.

Exactly, they are forced to log a users IP only if they are found in violation of their Swiss laws.

It's entirely the activist fault for being a moron and not even taking precautionary measures to login, how careless.

The only thing they gave out was the IP. Any "hacker" should really be using a VPN when accessing Protonmail
